As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), All-Ways Training Services can formally recognise a student’s existing level of skill and knowledge in two ways, either Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or credit transfer.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

RPL is an assessment process that recognises competence achieved through formal and informal training and education, work experience or general life experience. This experience can be applied towards a course or qualification to demonstrate competence.

Due to the high risk nature of high pressure water jetting and the short duration of our courses (1-2 days), we only offer RPL for students in the following specific situation:

Students wishing to enrol in MSMWJ304 – Operate a high pressure water jetting system, must already hold MSMWJ202 – Use high pressure water jetting equipment (this is a now pre-requisite for enrolling in an ‘operator’ course). In situations where a student comes to us holding one of the superseded HPWJ qualifications listed below, we offer the opportunity to use our RPL process to obtain MSMWJ202 – Use high pressure water jetting equipment:

  • MSMWJ201 – Use high pressure water jetting equipment
  • MSMSS00003 – Use high pressure water jetting equipment
  • MSMSS00004 – Operate a high pressure water jetting system

There is no charge for this RPL process and students must:

  1. Provide evidence that they already hold one of the superseded units listed above and
  2. Provide evidence that they possess the additional competencies listed in MSMWJ202 – Use high pressure water jetting equipment by successfully completing:
    • an online knowledge assessment and
    • a Third Party Declaration form (signed by both the student and their supervisor or equivalent)

RPL is not available for any other qualification we offer due to the Australian Standards requirement that assistants and operators must refresh their skills or demonstrate competency at least every 2 years. For further information on recognition of prior learning, please contact us directly.

Credit transfer
Credit transfer is available for all students to consider.  Students are provided with information about credit transfer upon enrolment and can discuss their application with us at any time.

Students who have previously completed some or all of the units in a skillset may opt to apply for credit transfer, however students may also opt to waive their right to credit transfer and refresh their knowledge on all units covered in a skillset.  For further information on credit transfer, please contact us directly.
